Shawn Donovan, CPA
Shawn is a Partner in the firm's Maryland office. He has more than 20 years of public accounting experience as a trusted business advisor for his clients. He is experienced in tax preparation, planning and consulting for high net-worth individuals, partnerships and corporations. Specifically he enjoys working with real estate developers, commercial real estate investors, other professional service firms and government contractors. Shawn also has experience in auditing and attestation for small and medium-sized businesses.
Shawn is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Shawn earned his Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. In his free time, Shawn enjoys being active in the communities of Gaithersburg and Damascus with his wife and two sons.
Donald Gold, CPA, CFE
Donald received his Bachelor of Commercial Science degree in accounting from the Benjamin Franklin University, now part of George Washington University. His experience includes 40 years of public accounting experience, including national firm experience with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). In 1974, Donald formed a partnership in public accounting. In 1989, he merged his practice into Gold, Leins, & Adoff. His practice includes advising small and medium-sized businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals. Principle services include accounting and auditing, business management advice, and income tax planning and preparation.
Gary A. Boswell, CPA
Gary entered into the accounting profession after obtaining degrees in Economics from Denison University and Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He started out in the private sector, but has since accumulated over 30 years of public accounting experience working both as a sole proprietor and with firms located in Maryland and Virginia. During that time, he has prepared income tax returns for various types of businesses including for-profit and not-for-profits, estates, trusts and retirement plans.
Living in the Washington, D.C. Metro area most of his life, he is a believer in giving back to the community and has been a member of Kiwanis International since 1982. During that time, he has held many leadership positions. Gary has also served as treasurer for several not for profits as an unpaid volunteer for many years. Gary is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).
Patrick Ryan, CPA
Patrick graduated from the University of
Maryland – The Robert H. Smith School of Business in May of 2001. Since
then, Patrick has worked in public accounting assisting his clients with tax
preparation, tax planning and business consulting. In addition, Patrick
has represented his clients in Internal Revenue Service examinations and
frequently assists his clients in finding equitable solutions in their
interactions with both the IRS and state tax authorities. Patrick has a
specialization in real estate taxation, although with over 20 years of
experience in public accounting, he provides a broad range of tax experience
and knowledge.
Patrick is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of
Certified Public Accountants.
Patrick resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife Jessica
and their three daughters. He enjoys spending time with his
family and attending his daughters’ swim meets. Patrick is an avid golfer
and continues to play in a weekly basketball game.
Lee
Kirby, CPA, MBA
Lee entered
the accounting profession after obtaining degrees in economics from University of
Pittsburgh and a master’s in business administration from the University of Florida.
He has over 30 years of public accounting experience working both as a partner and
as a principal with firms located in Maryland. During that time, he has
prepared income tax returns for various types of businesses, individuals,
estates and trusts.
Lee has
served as treasurer for a not for profit business and a private foundation. Lee
is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA).
Lee
lives in Washington D.C. with his wife Liz and has become an avid pickleball
player.
Stephanie Silva, CPA
Stephanie is a Supervisor in the Maryland office. She graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business in May 2016. Since then, she has worked in public accounting assisting clients with services, including bookkeeping, tax planning, and tax preparation. Stephanie is also a member of the AICPA and the MACPA.
Joanne MacMillan, CPA
Joanne is a graduate of Texas A&M University (Bachelor
of Science in Accounting) and American University (Master in Taxation). She has
over 20 years of public accounting experience. Her core practice areas include individual,
trust, partnership, gift and estate tax returns. Joanne is a member of the
AICPA and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland. She joined
Gold, Leins and Adoff, CPAs (GLA) in 2000 (until 2004) and then rejoined Turner,
Leins, & Gold, LLC in 2011.
Eric Manco
Eric Manco is a graduate of Mount St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Core practice areas include tax planning and tax preparation services for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Eric enjoys assisting clients and helping them with their tax issues.
Wanda Haggerty
Wanda is a graduate of George Mason University (Bachelor of Science in Accounting). She has 30 years of tax preparation experience. Core practice areas include individual, corporate, and not-for-profit organization clients, including audit, review, compilation, and tax services.
Michelle Keo, EA
Michelle is a graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has public accounting experience in preparation of individual, partnership, corporate, gift, trust, and estate tax returns. She constantly strives to be an efficient worker and loves to show her hardworking side, especially during tax season. Michelle became an Enrolled Agent in 2024.
Lisa Norwalk
Lisa Norwalk has been a bookkeeper and financial professional for over ten years. In 2017 she became an enrolled agent and has been preparing tax returns for TLG since 2018.
Cynthia Doria-Medina
Cynthia is a Staff Accountant with plans on obtaining her
CPA license. She has been in the accounting industry for over 8 years and has
experience working in both corporate and public accounting. She is a certified
ProAdvisor and QuickBooks expert. Cynthia enjoys working directly with clients
and providing personable bookkeeping and tax services. In her free time,
Cynthia enjoys hiking, doing DIY projects, and gardening.
Diane McLaughlin
Diane joined TL&G in 2011 and is the firm's resident technology expert as well as tax preparer. She received her Bachelor's degree from Drew University. Prior to coming to the firm, Diane held positions conducting technical training, recruiting, and general IT support in both legal and biotechnology envirornments. Her favorite hobby is photography.
Ashley Webster
Prior to joining the firm as an administrative assistant, Ashley was a paralegal for a local Silver Spring, Maryland law firm. Ashley's close attention to detail and her ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment have made her a valuable member of the firm. Always ready and willing to take on new assignments, Ashley is truly a team player.
